MFC/Commercialization Services/IP Evaluation Services

The MindForce IP Evaluation Group

The MindForce IP Evaluation Group conducts consulting projects where the IP Owner would like to get a market viewpoint about the IP's potential commercialization opportunity. Tapping into Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from both MindForce and MBA GlobalNet, our sister company, we consistently can organize these SMEs into short-term consulting teams asked to provide input based on their individual and collective experiences and information provided, i.e. a "Wisdom of Crowds" effect. We have partnered with BrightIdea.com to further enhance our ability to reach out to record our SME viewpoints. BrightIdea.com provides collaborative, enterprise software where employees provide input on new ideas. For our purposes we've tailored this software to meet our intranet and voting needs.

Conduct Subject Matter Expert IP Anlaysis
We bring together 3 to 5 industry experts (or more views, if required). They read information about IP provided by client, interview the IP champion(s) at the company or university, and use their industry experiences to individually and collectively assess and recommend the IP's best potential commercialization outcome. This may be either as a stand-alone start-up, or a licensing play, or IP that should be combined with other IP to maximize value, or IP that has no commercial value.
Conduct Subject Matter Expert Portfolio Review (Part I)
We bring a core team of SMEs to look at multiple IP and/or ideas from a company or university, and separate the best commercialization prospects (assuming future 'working' proof-of-concept attained) from those not marketable. Then, we bring a larger number of diverse cross-industry SMEs to review the IP portfolio, usually including a cohesive summary IP write-ups we've developed, and decide which IPs or ideas merit further investigation.

This collaborative "wisdom of crowds" process is designed to spot "eureka" innovation opportunities as we have such a diversity of experts looking at IP through their own industry experiential lenses, and also to see which IP stands out from all others due to the voting process we undertake. At the end of our review process, we will have identified a core group of IP that has the highest potential of commerialization success.
Evaluate IP Portfolio; Select "Best" IP, Form Teams And Actively Market (Part II)
We evaluate an IP Portfolio and through our review process, as described in Part I, we find the best IP to commercialize. From this IP pool, we work with our client, to select the very best opportunities and form, on a case by case basis, either Licensing Teams or Venture Teams to find licensees or to start a company.
Traditional Work-For-Hire Consulting Projects
Our consultants have also completed numerous business plans, market research studies, investor presentation materials, and many other types of new venture and IP project work. With low overhead, given our virtual nature, we are able to transfer these savings to our clients at reasonable consultant wages, and find the most-qualified, seasoned consultant, usually in a matter of 24 hours or less. You can either hire one of our consultants individually or we will put together a consulting team to work with you -- at a rate that will be significantly less than if you hired a Big 4 accounting firm, for example, or even a boutique IP valuation firm.
